The TF2 fandom and the shipps on it (rant)
Every fandom has shipps, and TF2 isn’t any different, but I’ve been seeing a major problem here that have been bothering me for a while
People often do not respect other shipps except the ones they shipp it, and that bothers me alot
RESPECT OTHER PEOPLE SHIPPS. ISN’T THAT SIMPLE?!
For example, sniperspy, that’s one of the most popular shipps on the fandom, and I really, REALLY don’t like it, I prefer 100x sniperscout, I love it! But that’s not excuse for me to hate on people who shipp it! I only scroll and it’s over, life goes on
Tbh I feel like sniperspy shippers have smth against sniperscout shippers and I really don’t understand why, they say it’s bcs they don’t have chemestry but I clearly see on some official SFMs that scout and sniper are friends, best friends, unlike spy and sniper that they don’t like eachother, but who am I to say anything, shipp whatever you want, I won’t hate on you
Anyways- back on the topic, everyone shipps smth here, and if you don’t shipp nothing, at least RESPECT! I’ve seen some people who don’t shipp the characters hate on people who do and said that they are “ruining the fandom” (my brother, heavymedic has been a thing since the game came out)
I guess tiktok has the worst situation abt this problem, there people hate wayy too much on others simply bcs they shipp smth that they doesn’t like, CHILL and scroll if you don’t like it, don’t hate on the person who made the video
Also, major of the experiences I’m listing here happened where? On tiktok ofc!
Remembering that this is only the minority of the fandom, that most of the minority is placed on tiktok and are teenagers like me, plus I haven’t exprerienced anything like this on tumblr, my major critizism is for tiktok part of the fandom
